On the evening of September 22, 2022, a female individual went from house to house in several streets in the district of Gersweiler, ringing the doorbells of the residents. The woman told the residents that she lived in the neighborhood and had locked herself out. She said she needed money for a taxi ride. The woman offered to leave her ring as collateral.
In one case, the perpetrator gained access to the apartment and stole a four-digit amount of cash from a cupboard. The woman was said to be about 30 to 35 years old and of normal to sturdy build. Furthermore, she corresponded to the Southeast European phenotype and spoke German with a Saarland accent. Tips are accepted at the phone number 0681/9715233 or at any police station.
