In the night from Sunday to Monday shortly after 1 a.m., a verbal altercation occurred in Wilhelmstraße in St. Wendel between the operator of a snack bar and a so far unknown male person. During the course of this, the 44-year-old owner from St. Wendel was struck on the head with an iron bar. The victim suffered severe injuries to the face/head area and lost two teeth. Afterwards, the perpetrator fled in an unknown direction. The injured person had to be transported by ambulance to the university hospital in Homburg.
According to current investigations, the perpetrator could have been a man under 18 years of age with a slim build and brown, curly hair. He was said to be about 175 cm tall and wore blue pants and a white T-shirt.
Criminal proceedings for dangerous bodily harm have been initiated. The investigations are ongoing.
