„SaarSchleifen“ in Saarlouis: Literary diversity from the region
On the occasion of the newly published anthology „SaarSchleifen,“ Mayor Marc Speicher and Deputy Mayor Carsten Quirin welcomed representatives of the Literary Regulars’ Table Saarbrücken to Saarlouis Town Hall.
“I am very pleased that a book has been created with SaarSchleifen that makes the literary diversity of our region visible. Such publications show how vibrant the cultural scene in Saarland is and how creatively authors engage with their homeland,” said the Mayor. Deputy Mayor Carsten Quirin also expressed his pleasure about the new release and praised the commitment of the group of authors.
The anthology brings together 15 authors from the Literary Regulars’ Table Saarbrücken, who approach the term “SaarSchleifen” in very different ways. It is not understood geographically, but rather as a literary impulse. The varied contributions illustrate how diversely a single word can unfold literarily.
The group of authors meets regularly to exchange ideas about literature, writing, and creative concepts. From this shared passion and the desire to illuminate Saarland in its facets through literature, the anthology was born.
In Saarlouis, the book is available, among others, at Pieper Bücher as well as Bock & Seip.
Interested parties also have the opportunity to meet the group of authors in person: On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, a free reading will take place at the vhs in the Donatuszentrum in Saarlouis at 6:00 p.m.
