POL-HOM: Burning Trash Can at Jägersburger Weiher

At the Jägersburger Weiher, a trash can caught fire, which was quickly extinguished by the fire department. An improperly disposed disposable grill was likely the cause. The fire spreading to the vegetation was prevented. Witnesses are asked to contact the Homburg police.

Fire department prevented the fire from spreading to surrounding vegetation

On 20.07.2026, around 6:00 p.m., a trash can caught fire in the area of the sunbathing lawn at Brückweiher, near the local multifunctional field, in Homburg-Jägersburg. The Homburg fire department was able to extinguish the fire quickly and prevent the flames from spreading to vegetation. Property damage occurred to the waste container.

During the firefighting operations, it became apparent that the cause of the fire was most likely a disposable grill that was improperly disposed of and not completely cooled down.

Witnesses reported that the mentioned disposable grill had previously been discarded by a group of youths.
