POL-North Saarland: Controlled detonation of World War munitions in Losheim am See, district Bachem.

World War II ammunition was discovered in Losheim am See but could not be transported due to its condition. Specialists from the state police conducted a controlled explosion. The site was cordoned off, and there was no danger to the public.

On July 9, 2026, a child hit a parked car with a car door in the Rossmann parking lot in Lebach. The damage was noticed only later at home. The police are now looking for the unknown driver of a gray BMW and other witnesses.

At a border control in Saarbrücken, a man from France was checked by the federal police due to an outstanding arrest warrant. The unpaid fine of over 5,000 euros led to his arrest. After paying the fine, the 36-year-old was allowed to leave the station.

In the night of July 9, 2026, a BMW X5 caught fire on the L119 near Rohrbach. The vehicle was completely destroyed, also damaging the roadway and a highway bridge. Police are now seeking witnesses to the car fire in Rohrbach to determine the cause.
